DIGITAL HEARTS Enters into Agreement to Acquire Game Debugging Business from IMAGICA GEEQ – Strengthening debugging capacity for future demand growth and global expansion

DIGITAL HEARTS Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as “DIGITAL HEARTS”) hereby announces that it has agreed to acquire the game debugging business of IMAGICA GEEQ Inc. (“IMAGICA GEEQ”) and entered into a business transfer agreement with IMAGICA GEEQ on August 6, 2026.

■Reasons for the Business Acquisition

Since its establishment in 2001, DIGITAL HEARTS has supported the quality improvement of a wide range of game titles by providing debugging services that identify defects in console and mobile games from the end-user’s perspective. A key strength of DIGITAL HEARTS’s debugging services lies not only in verifying functionality but also in detecting defects from a broad range of perspectives by leveraging the creativity and insight of game-savvy professionals, including identifying subtle usability issues and anticipating unexpected player behavior. This high level of debugging quality has earned strong recognition from clients, establishing DIGITAL HEARTS as a trusted partner for game quality assurance in Japan. In recent years, DIGITAL HEARTS has also been pursuing further growth by expanding its quality assurance services, including debugging, into global markets.

Demand for debugging services has been increasing both in Japan and overseas, driven by the growing complexity of games, the acceleration of multilingual and multiplatform game releases, and the increase in game development projects following the launch of Nintendo Switch 2. At the same time, the level of expertise and responsiveness required of debugging service providers continues to rise. Against this backdrop, DIGITAL HEARTS has decided to acquire the game debugging business of IMAGICA GEEQ in order to expand its service capacity while maintaining its high debugging quality and supporting future global business expansion.

Since launching services for console games at its Osaka office in 2011, IMAGICA GEEQ’s game debugging business has built an extensive track record in debugging a wide variety of game titles. It has also demonstrated strong technical capabilities, including obtaining Gold Partner certification from the International Software Testing Qualifications Board (ISTQB). Through this business acquisition, DIGITAL HEARTS will strengthen both the quality and scale of its debugging services by adding more than 500 debugging professionals—including many veteran staff members with over five years of experience—as well as new operating locations in Tokyo, Osaka, and Niigata. At the same time, IMAGICA GEEQ will be able to further concentrate its management resources on its strategic businesses, including contracted game development.

Going forward, the DIGITAL HEARTS Group will continue strengthening its operational structure to respond flexibly to clients’ evolving needs while focusing on delivering high-value services powered by the unique expertise and passion of game enthusiasts, thereby driving further sustainable growth.
